DIY Rae Dunn Knock-off

I was in a Buccee’s the first time I saw a Rae Dunn cream and sugar set and it was love at first sight.  I don’t know what it is about the plain white background with the hand lettered font that makes them so irresistible, but it is definitely a craze right now. Maybe we are drawn to the simplicity of the style. Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, its good to be reminded about life’s little pleasures…like sharing a steaming hot cup of coffee with a friend or a home cooked meal with a stick of butter on the table.

While I would love to have a collection like Leslie at My 100 Year Old Home, they are in high demand right now and hard to find. So I decided to make my own copycat version.

I found a very similar font called The Skinny and its free to download!

I used my Silhouette to cut out the font, but you could also print it onto a clear label and stick it onto your dish.

Pitcher: Ikea, 14.99
Vase: Ikea, 1.99
Font: The Skinny (free download here)

It’s such a simple way to dress up a plain white dish and give it some character.  Next on my list to make – a DIY Rae Dunn coffee cup!
